Field Notes Week of April 19th-25th
I had to double check when this week began because so much happened! Our first wedding of the season was this weekend (it gets it’s own post). We did quite a bit of covering and uncovering plants from frost, with some success and some loss. The Maryland Bureau of Agriculture sent out a damage survey and I was grateful that ours will be nothing compared to the vineyards and strawberry farms for whom it was incredibly destructive.
On the bright side we had all kinds of new things blooming this weekend. The Amandine Porcelain ranunculus are a hit and I find the fairy magic of columbines irresistible.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I’ve just been informed that our tooth fairy forgot to come last night. She is really unreliable. She probably got lost among the flowers again.
