Field Notes June 22-26: Productivity
This past weekend was our last wedding until September. It was the perfect exclamation point to that chapter of our season and totally gorgeous. This week was all about farming with a capital F. Seedlings in the field were ready for pinching and plant supports. We dragged tarps, we rearranged rebar, we laid irrigation and mulched and prepped beds. All so that next week we can be flexible when the heatwave comes. My boss is Capital Weather (who isn’t with WaPo anymore-consider supporting them!). The farm is alive with activity. This week I saw frogs, snakes, butterflies, and a red tail hawk! The boys are back in town. And by boys, I mean bugs. All part of a happy diverse ecosystem that we get to be a part of.
